Support Nowhere Island!

If you take a look around the site, you will notice something. Specifically, that there are no ads. In a previous incarnation (if you want to find it, go ahead! I dare you!) I tried experimenting with ads. Not only is it really inefficient (I would need a large amount of people to make any money at all) it is really annoying. I don’t want to do it again, and from what I’ve heard, no one really wants to click on adds.

To that end, I have several alternative methods. The first method I’ve manged to implement is Patreon. For those of you who don’t know what Patreon is, it is a method of paying whatever you want to support a favorite content creator. You have the option to pay whatever you want per month and it is completely refundable before the month is up. Some Patreons gate off content, but I promise to never do that. Instead, I will give you a shout-out in a special post each month. What kind of shout out? Well, it depends on your reward tier. At the lowest tier, I’ll just post your name. At the highest, I’ll post your name, a picture or video of your choice, and a two-sentence blurb as well as follow you on your social media! For more details, click here.

Another way you can do this is to vote for us on Top Web Fiction. Usually, we don’t even chart, so click on the link here. Your vote resets every week, so it might be nice to vote every time you read a new update. Another way to support NIU is to go to Web Fiction Guide, find our listing (or just click the link,) and give us a review. While I would like a good one, any review is a chance to be on WFG’s front page for a good week. Also, be sure to check out the other people there. You’ll like what you find.

I may, at some points, introduce new ways you can support me, such as t-shirts and physical and e-book versions (or as Penny Arcade calls them, “low-bandwidth versions.”) I may even have… something more ambitious down the line that you might want to see. However, I will never gate off content or introduce adds.
